Play Grounds
There are two play areas. One play area for infants contains a climbing frame, slide, see-saw, roundabout, swings, animals on springs as well as fun things to experiment with such as curved mirrors and a hand whistle.
Inside this play area there is also an aviary in which there are cockatiels, zebra finches and budgerigars who all appreciate visitors!
Designed around the concept of a river, the second playground for older children is set in a wooded area which feels very in-keeping with the parkland. There is something for all ages and some challenging pieces including a rope bridge, climbing nets, a basket swing and an extra large see-saw, a pole forest with climbing nets, a large slide, a basket swing, a rope bridge, a series of roundabouts and spinning items, a large see saw and a series of bouncing, rotating and balance beams.
The play area is predominantly timber in order to complement the park's character, and includes a new footpath which represents a river ‘flowing’ through the space and improves accessibility, while other landscape features such as mounds, shrubs and boulders have been added to emphasise the river valley concept and promote natural play.
