Hartley Road Gate
Hartley Road gateway was badly damaged four years ago. Thanks to finance from Trafford MBC and additional donations from ordinary/extraordinary people and Seamons Moss Association restoration is now complete and it is in a better condition than it has been for decades. Quite wonderful. We are thankful for this and hope that it will now be well looked after.

Green Flag
We are very happy that we have been confirmed as a Green Flag park for another 12 months. Thanks to everyone who made this happen.

Facilities
It is now possible to use the tennis courts and MUGGA as long as government guidelines on social distancing are followed. Bowling has now finished for the season.
Events 2021
Sadly we cannot see a way to hold our usual events.
In Bloom and planter
The park and planter are looking good – and we shall continue working to bring the gardens of the park up to a good standard.
Maintenance
Support from Amey/Trafford MBC is good with grass being cut and bins cleared. Volunteer friends of the park are doing a wonderful job keeping the park looking beautiful. Gardening continues on most days and with a good team of volunteers – most areas are looking respectable: Dawn’s bank, the acer bed, the beds of the ornamental garden, including the long border, the end bed with the Worcester Permian and the bed under the hollies, the octagonal bed and the toddlers’ playground, and Manchester Road Corner.

Friends of John Leigh Park
The Friends of John Leigh Park was established in 2002 and following a quiet period is finding new life in new challenges.
We aim to achieve recognition of the Friends as an association which can raise funds, organise activities and relate effectively with the Council, other Friends groups and other relevant organisations. With your support the friends can continue vital projects to keep John Leigh Park a wonderful facility for walkers, runners, old, young, active and sedate to share and enjoy.

2017 was the centenary of the park. We enjoyed a wonderful celebration of this throughout the year - most especially in June when our visitors included members of Sir John Leigh's family. A Black Mulberry tree was planted by Sir Graham Brady to commemorate the occasion and Leslie Turner has produced a booklet which summarises the history of the park. There is much more about this within the website.
